a happier entry: stuff that happened in Buffalo
Before I forget, I would just like to point out that I've been called "the Beth Phoenix to my Lillian" by Shanny on her lj... so from now on, she is the Lillian to my Beth Phoenix haha
So yeah... besides the unfortunate reason Marc and I had to go to Buffalo for Christmas... here is a synopsis of what happened there
Tuesday 12/23
- Woke up at like 5am, drove April and Cinder to Steel Animal Hospital, got them settled. Drove to Tampa Int'l Airport, flight left at 9:05am to JFK Airport in NYC.... where we walked off the plane, and then learned we got to turn right around and get back on it LOL. We were supposed to switch planes, but there were some flips and flops due to delays.
- Side note, JetBlue has DirecTV and XM radio on the planes!!! MUCH more enjoyable flight when you can watch "Rock & A Hard Place" (game show hosted by Meat Loaf!) and "A New Face For Marlie" hahaha... yay tumors!
- Flight from NYC to Buffalo landed at 2:15pm... where we got to see the 'baggage farm' at Buffalo, from all the delays the week before... rows and rows of unclaimed luggage
- Stopped at Mighty Taco for lunch! w00000t
- Went to the funeral parlor to see Papa laid out, and also take care of a whole bunch of loose ends that my family hadn't taken care of yet, like paying for the death certificates
- Went to my grandparents'... :( ... grandma's house.... *sigh*... my aunt made meatloaf (recurring theme here LOL) for dinner.
- Went to my parents' and went to sleep
Wednesday 12/24
- Woke up and went to the McAuley Residence behind Kenmore Mercy to see Marc's grandparents... his grandmother who had a stroke last year, and his grandfather who just got put in for kidney stones, vertigo, and shingles... fun. After visiting, we went back to my parents' to disinfect, so as not to spread the shingles around lol
- My mom calls me and asks if me and Marc are sick... no... why... apparently almost everyone who ate the meat loaf (recurring theme!!!) last night got sick... gasto-intestinally lol. Me, Marc, and my brother were all immune. Justin didn't eat much, and Marc and I ate from the second loaf, so we figure that's it
- Went to Marc's OTHER grandparents' for dinner... lasagna and mushroom soup... got to see our nephews :) SIDE NOTE: I guess the week before, Marc's dad and step-mom had went to visit the boys, and Dylan (the younger one) kept yelling "UNCLE MARK AND AUNT DEEEEEEEE!!!!" no matter how much Shelly corrected him haha
- THEN we went to my other aunt's house for... dinner... LOL. Didn't eat anything really, Marc and I split a slice of cheesecake... then we got to drive my other VERY DRUNK aunt home LOL. Gotta love family.
- Hung out with Nikk, that was fun... watching the drunk people at Grey's Place stumble all over the place and do the Thriller dance! hahahaha
Thursday 12/25
- MERRY CHRISTMAS!!! Marathon, here we come LOL
- Watched my 21 year old brother act like he's 6 again, tearing open presents in record time LOL. My mom got us 2 over-sized bath towels and a grilled cheese maker!
- Visited Marc's grandparents at the McAuley again... came home and disinfected
- Went to my OTHER aunt's house (I have 3 LOL) for dinner... where I commandeered the Bailey's Irish Creme bottle to dull the pain of family hahaha
Friday 12/26
- Went to the GAC to visit the... 4? people that were on schedule hahaha. Went to lunch with Ann & Josh and made plans to go to the Sabres game on Saturday!
- Also found out that my dad and my uncle George had gastro-enteritis... maybe it wasn't the meat loaf? (Our recurring theme has changed!)
- Marc and I went to the mall. The day after Christmas. To go to Yankee Candle. This was all Marc's idea. Especially Yankee Candle. hahahaha. We stopped in the closing Kay-Bee Toys, and I bought a Joey Styles action figure for Justin and a Hannah Montana game for Amanda LOL
- went to Amanda's house and played Rock Band for the first time ever! ADDICTED! I got to sing the whole time because no one else wanted to and I did GOOD! LOL
- went to Grey's (recurring theme #2? LOL) to hang out with Marc's dad. He got REALLY drunk. (Recurring theme #3??) Marc's dad, not Marc LOL
Saturday 12/27
- Went to the Sabres game at night with Ann & Josh... where halfway through the 2nd period... Marc gets sick. VIOLENTLY. Puked in the bathroom... doesn't remember the rest of the game (including the awesome shootout!!)... then pukes in the parking lot too! We have now determined this is NOT the meat loaf hahaha. My poor baby :(
Sunday 12/28
- Marc stays in bed at my parents' house all day
- I go to my grandma's house, go upstairs to bathe and groom my aunt's dog, then visit with my grandma for awhile
Monday 12/29
- Marc feels a little better, but we take it easy... we go to breakfast with my dad, visit my grandma, etc.
- A big chunk of my family goes to Outback for dinner: me, Marc, my parents, Justin, grandma, aunt Jeanne, Amanda, Kyle... good times... good meal... everyone was disgusted with Marc's just-barely-dead steak
Tuesday 12/30
- we meet Marc's dad for lunch at Pizza Plant, where I completely overstuff myself
- we get Mike's Subs for dinner
- there is nothing to do in Buffalo except eat
Wednesday 12/31
- we were supposed to leave today at 4:30pm... our flight got cancelled. I hate snow. We are leaving tomorrow at 5am
- we go to breakfast with my mom and a couple of her friends (see yesterday)
- we visit my grandma, Marc's mom, his grandparents
- chaperone Justin's New Years Eve party... until I decide to go to bed at 9:30 pm lol
Thursday 1/1/09
- I woke up at 4am... I hate snow.
- was sooooo happy to be back in Florida LOL
- got the animals, went home and crashed
Tomorrow, my cousin Jessica comes to visit for a week. My house is a mess. I don't care. LOL
