We're having a Blizzard here right now. Winter has to go out with a bang. I composed these heart felt words a few days ago and sent it to a few friends. I've decided to post it here:
"A dear friend suggested dropping me from her flist on LJ because she doesn't need the "drama" that has been going on here lately. I respect her wishes since most on her flist are drama lovers, and users that I've dropped from my flist because of those traits. Huge ego's. Then something suddenly struck me as very ironic about all this: LJ IS drama! Peoples lives, struggles, hassles, etc....it IS DRAMA!
When it gets nasty is when folks spread false rumors about others to cause pain, and make their egos seem "bigger"...more "important". The word used for them is "cyber-bullies". You know the sort, they sit at their puter
all day, usually surfing when they should be working (thieves stealing company time). Their life mostly exists on the Net. Drama is their drug...food for their ego.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not jumbling everyone here into one basket. There are some wonderful people here, but I have found some other social networking (and other) sites that are just chock full of excellent folks, with good intentions, and knowing those places exist on the Net makes me very happy.
The change is coming folks. Many of us are waking up to the dysfunction that is wasting lives, and destroying our Earth, and some of "us" are about to change it. Those that snooze, will lose. As the great philosopher Voltaire observed many centuries ago: "Common sense is not that common". I can't change those poor souls. Like sobriety, it is something that must become a personal decision: an awakening.
May as many souls become awakened as soon as possible!
