"I understand, sir, but that's why they call it curbside," Hannah said into the phone, exchanging glances with Augie. "Sir, ah get that. I do. I do. Well, we're not Applebees!" With that she slammed the receiver down. Augie raised an eyebrow and in return he received a glare. "Some people are just idiots, Augie. Idiots."
"Snappish..." he said, shaking his head and looking down at the bill he was ringing up.
"Ah'm sorry that you've been watching a little too much Ally McBeal, Augie, but he deserved it. He was incompetent. I can't talk to incompetent people who call up and call me a Southern she-devil! I just can't!"
"Relax," Augie replied. "Be a hostess. Breathe. Be...a hostess. Let Tina grab the phones," he said with a shrug before disappearing back to his table.
"You're a calming Saint, Augie Landow," she yelled cheerfully before turning and grabbing the latest order that was ready. Without turning, she checked the receipt and compared it to the contents of the bag. "...OK, order #13, you're up" she said, looking at the label and then up at - "Oh, Andy." Her eyes went wide and she smiled, politely. "...Your order's up..."
She hadn't seen him since late Summer. She remembered he had lived in Los Angeles. So, she wasn't surprised. Just - surprised...it made sense to her.]
