Youth is truly wasted on the young

Feb 24, 2007 05:10

Way back in 2004 I wrote this entry on OpenDiary about how messed up it is that teenage girls and young single women will intentionally get pregnant just to have a baby because it's something "cool" that they can do. Seems that trend is still going on today, 3 years later. My own extended family has some experience with this since my youngest ( Read more... )

I started trying to imagine how incredibly awkward and embarrassing it must be for any girl to strip and spread her legs for a guy for the first time. I can't help imagining that no matter how badly she wants it, that moment must just be a horribly uncomfortable one (not necessarily physically uncomfortable) for somebody who's been told her entire life by adults that that spot is private and nobody should ever see it.

Awkward and embarrassing, yes, because you're thinking that he's staring at every single part of your body that you don't like and thinking OMG, she's so fat/ugly/deformed. Of course, now I'm older and wiser (!) I know that mostly they're thinking "tits in the right place... ass in the right place... I cannot believe I'm going to get to fuck tonight". And maybe that's worse! ; )

Being told that spot is private and nobody should ever see it- nobody ever told me that. I wasn't brought up to be ashamed of my pussy, and I don't know anybody who was. Maybe this is an American thing? From what I read about Purity Balls (omg ( ... )

True, it is something of an American notion that you should keep your legs together until you're married, no matter your faith. Though I'm sure you'd agree it's probably not a good idea for young girls to go flashing it around. You'd think that a country that seems as morally debauched as we are in our entertainment wouldn't be quite so uptight, but it's those tightwads that got Bush elected twice (suspicions of voter fraud and tampering aside). I don't know about the post-coital showering you're taking about, and I'm pretty sure I'd have heard of that stereotype already if it were well known. Anyways, it's nice to hear you've got a love, rather than a love-hate, relationship with your lady business. Maybe I should visit Europe sometime ( ... )

It's a well-known stereotype over here that Americans are freaky about "hygiene", hence the showering before/after (and I've known people it's happened to), the not eating something if it falls on the floor, and various other traits that bemuse us no end. You shower in the morning, then after working out, no need for any more! Besides, the taste of soap when you're going down on somebody is never ideal.

Oh, and Purity Balls, all those do is popularize oral sex among the youth, because "it's not really sex." Damn, I wish I was in high school again and knew who all the sexually repressed orally fixated girls were.

And, apparently, anal sex, because that doesn't count either!

Which clearly makes me a born-again virgin.
