So we managed to buy a vacuum cleaner and the dinner party went well. The clogged drain has resulted in a minor flood in our kitchen. Also, my computer gave me the blue screen of death last night and wasn't working this morning (turns on but doesn't send anything to the monitor even though I can hear the hard drive whirring away).
