she never claimed
that her life would be fair
when her drunk mother came
and she pulled out her hair

so she called him and said
that she could not live there
and she'd rather be dead
than to live with her stare

i saw her so innocent
but she could barely hold her head
after this tragic event
for which she wished she was dead

God wrapped his arms around her
and gave her new life
troubles no longer bound her
and she put down the knife

she never said
that life would be fair
but she held up her head
and she let down her hair

she grinned at me
and invited me to come
she let me see
all that God has done

true story...semi-crappy poem, but i liked it
