I was awakened this morning by my roommate dropping a drawer on her foot. Granted, I was already fading in and out of sleep before that because she was having a loud conversation with out suite mates in the bathroom with the door open.
So life has been good. I have about 2 weeks left until I'm done, and probably in the area of 3 until I'm home, which is definitely nice. Then running around, visiting people. I'm excited.
So this weekend was pretty great, despite the fact that it didn't go smoothly in the slightest. Friday was Mustard Plug at the Blind Pig, and all my friends flaked out, or had other shit to do, or went home, or whatever, so I wasn't sure if I wanted to go myself. Doors were at 9:30. Plus the Blind Pig is hella far (You have to head away from campus and then walk across the city of Ann Arbor). Alana ended up coming over around 8:30 to order dinner, and then I was gonna head out, but she hung around until a little after 10, and we sat around watching Canadian TV. So around 11, I talked to Vicki (Wong) and she was heading down to the Necto, so I figured I'd go and head down with her and then walk the rest of the way myself.
I got there around midnight and missed the two opening bands, but I arrived right before Mustard Plug went on, and they rocked out so hard. I was dripping sweat by the time I left and ran back to campus to catch the vomit commit (bus).
So yesterday was chill. I slept until 1:30, and then did nothing. I watched some undergrads with Chris later in the afternoon, and then he came with me to go meet Melissa and Kelly for dinner. We walked out to Main street (2 blocks from the Blind Pig) when I got a call from Vicki who was supposed to meet us later on that some guy she knows had just bought the last ticket to Brendan Benson, who we were going to see at the Blind Pig that night. We went down there and the bartender told us it was "basically sold-out" so we left and got some dinner. At this point Chris went home, and the three if us went back to the BLind Pig to see what we could do. We waited in line for and hour and a half before they let us in, but it was well worth it. We kept ourselves entertained with the girls behind us by making fun of the dancers in the window of the Millennium Club. The Hard Lessons, who were the second opening band (we missed the first) rocked out so hard. The lead singer fell in love with Melissa. The chick had a great voice, and their drummer was a midget, who was just fantastic! I would def. go see them again, and if I'm still in Michigan on the 30th I will. Then Brendan Benson came on, and he just rocked it. He's from Detroit, and most of his family was at the show. He played a great set and was just adorable. (Even if most of the crowd was old enough to be our parents. LoL... mom was rocking out!) I got a polaroid or Brendan w. the singer of the Hard Lessons camera! And then we got that and some CDs autographed. We left, and called Alex, who came to get us, and I definitely owe him one. :)
But now I need to get my ass studying since I have exams this and next week.
