It's been a while since I've done a decent update on here. I still check my friends page obsessively about 20 times a day, so even if I can't think of a comment, I'm reading. But no-one knows what's going on with me so I thought I would catch you all up.
01. I had some trouble with my website a couple of weeks ago. My hosting provider suspended my account because they detected that a virus had been uploaded to the domain. I could have called them up and spent hours on hold trying to sort it all out but my account was due to be renewed next month anyway so I decided it was time to let it go. I had over 100 hostees that I didn't even know and it could have been any of them that uploaded that file. It made me realize how many strangers had access to my domain and could upload anything they wanted. Which isn't such a good idea when everything is registered in your own name.
So I'm letting that one go when they automatically delete my account in the next couple of days, hopefully my hostees can find someone else. I have signed up with a different hosting provider just so that I can have some webspace of my own. I never realized how much I depend on it, having somewhere to host my images, an email account, a place where I can upload any file type at any size, no worries about limits or bandwidth. The new domain is
http://luna-nueva.org, which means New Moon in Spanish. I thought it fitted well and sounded really pretty. It's a new start, a blank slate. There are only files up there at the moment but hopefully one day I will get around to designing another website.
02. At the beginning of the year I decided to only aim for 50 books, there was a lot of pressure last year going for 100. I spent January and February casually making my way through about 5 books, and then in March I suddenly decided that I had to go for 100 again. I finished my 30th one for the year a couple of days ago, so I'm pretty ahead of schedule for 50 but I'm still a little behind if I want to make 100. I think right now it could go either way.
027. Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen [4/30]
028. Size Doesn't Matter by Meg Cabot [5/2]
029. Salem Falls by Jodi Picoult [5/6]
030. Taming The Highland Bride by Lynsay Sands [5/9]
2010 book list I've started reading Jodi Picoult books lately and she's quickly become one of my favorite authors. The only book I knew about was My Sisters Keeper and it didn't really seem like something I would read, but I've read 3 of her other ones so far and they've all been amazing. Absolute page turners, I haven't been able to put them down once I got into them.
03. Uni isn't going so great. The subjects I'm doing this semester are horrible. Incredibly boring and completely pointless. I think I've probably been to about 10 classes all up so far (There are 6 a week and we're in week 11..). But it's just a couple of weeks to go, 1 assignment to finish and 4 exams to study for, then it's holidays! That's the only thing keeping me going.
04. Possibly the most important point of all, the new Vampire Academy book comes out in ONE WEEK! I can't wait. I just need to figure out how I'm going to get it, because I have to work next Tuesday. So I either have to get up really early or wait until Wednesday afternoon.
05. I think that's pretty much it. Work is the same. I've got a Vampire Diaries marathon planned for the weekend with a friend, so I'm looking forward to that.
