Action Open to All [It's a little after midnight and out of nowhere a roaring engine barrels through the streets, narrowly avoiding a pedestrians before coming to a screaming halt. The driver slowly steps out of the car and takes in the surroundings.]

Watch where you're driving!

I was. That's why you're still alive.

Pft. First talking cars and now races. What's next? Dancing blue people?

I'm not sure what kind of a place you keep company in. Cars don't talk, ma'am.

[Is still trying to figure out where he is. Taking note of the street names, or lack thereof.]

The City. And before you ask, yes, they were serious when they named it and yes, it is not on any map.

[and she starts checking her makeup and hair in a mirror]

It's a nexus of realities is the best description I've heard it given.

None of that made any sense.

[Crosses his arms.]

A what?

Did I say this place makes sense?

[smiles, sets her suitcase down and digs out some lipstick and toughs it up]

It's a place between worlds, dimensions, realities and whatever else is out there that enjoys pulling people to fill its streets. You'll find angels and demons living next to talking animals, gods, robots, and the occasional alien. Normals are rather sparse around here.

Worlds, dimensions, realities? You're sounding more like a science fiction book.

Where do I go to get out of here?

You don't. Finding a way out doesn't happen if you look for one. And dying here will keep you stuck here forever.

[all perfect again she puts away the makeup and checks her PDA]

So you're like that other guy who kept on blabbering about anime this and manga that. Just don't worry your head about little things like logic and you'll do just fine.

I don't think you understand. I need to be elsewhere. People's lives are in danger.

[Tries to keep his temper and evens out his tone of voice.]

What guy?

They always are, darling. But if you must insist, the nice thing about being pulled here is that if you get back it would only be a few moments back in your world.

Or so I have been told.

Oh some guy. Started rambling on about icons and I just phased him out.

Those few moments could make or break a life. [At the speeds that things happen on the race track, that is possible.]

Hm, interesting. You live on the edge then. How quaint~

Yes. And it is pointless if I'm not around. Is there anything that can be done?

Oh, you could check the Fountain, but it's a notorious exaggerator, or ask the deities but they aren't prone to let people go once they are here.

Deities and all sorts of mystical beings but no way out. Huh.
