Go figure, 2 days after I'm ready to blow a whole county up I actually have a blast there, not in the literal sense. My friend was showing her documentary that I took some pictures for, though I still haven't seen them and that was like 2 weeks ago. Like Macbeth, tomorrow.
Since it was an art show, they had free wine and food, so it was a good thing I didn't eat or drink before hand. I felt so much like my old self tonight it was great. I'm sure it has something to do with the fact that I have pretty much spent the last week cooped up at home working, or at work working. I love play time.
The 'fascist show' was really cool. I wanted to take pictures, but the light was too low to capture motion without the flash and I didn't want to ruin the scene although it may have made it more like a twisted fashion show.
Also, there was this massive staircase up a hill side with a waterfall. Basically the whole location is very cool and artistic. I would love to live in a place like that (again). I miss seeing nature, but I love human endeavors and culture. It's a bit of conudrum usually.
So I met a whole bunch of cool people, drank, attempted to take flashless pictures in low light on 35mm. I have no idea how these will turn out. Probably accurate to perception. Like the blurry pictures from Lori's party in SF and the 'drug-free zone' in bezerkley.
After everything a few of us went into town. I danced my ass off at the irish bar we went too. There was a live band and no cover so it was all good. Our group was pretty much the only one dancing, but I'm use to that by now.
We also got to annoy the locals. I asked a random old man how he felt about cannibalism. He just gave me a confused look. We also snuck into a bar full of Abercrombies that was charging a cover for shitty music. The security guard tried to kick me out so I kept insisting that he give me money and show me his ID. Then he told me that by law he couldn't touch me. That kinda destroyed his big scariness at all which was the only thing he had going for him since I didn't respect his authority, or anyone's for that matter.
Eventually I left when he stopped shiny his little light in my face. My roommate got kicked out of the backdoor. I walked out the front like a civilized person. If yr gonna try and kick me out at least let me leave in a civilized manner. All of the rest of our crew got kicked out eventually. Oddly enough the bouncer was quite cordial after we left the premises and even returned the shirt that was dropped.
After peeking in at a couple bizarre bars, one which was empty and another that every was dressed exactly the same, and some discussion about 90210 reunions we headed home. It was a fun, random night. My favorite.
