Mine as well. &hearts They had one of the best stories for me throughout the series, one of the best developments. Their ending was beautiful as well. Saddening and heartbreaking, but beautiful.
Oh I totally know what you mean. Adelle was at her worst during that time and that made their interactions hard to watch. Reminds me of when she slapped him. :( But then they're sort of back to the way we saw them in Epitah One, especially in Getting Closer where she holds his hand. *sigh* I love them so much!
See, also, the painful thing about 2x07 is that I totally understand why Adelle does what she does. I can't really blame her for it, but it pains me because they don't understand each other. Topher doesn't see how unhappy Adelle is with her new position, seeing people she swore to protect be abused, because, well, he just doesn't notice things like that. I refuse to believe he'd act the way he did if he had. And Adelle probably doesn't completely understand that about Topher at the time, and -- well, she's always been his mother figure, she has to discipline him when he's misbehaving. And god, seeing him treat her with no respect after that -- seeing her threaten to frikkin maim him. It breaks my heart.

Hehe, I have no problems with miniessays. ;) I think proper fangirling can only be done through miniessays or insanely short and capslocked posts. ;)
And I agree. I can understand Adelle as well, and I'm one of the few people who does in my group of friends. The situations they're both in are such that it would of course lead to some pain for the both of them, and like you said, Topher doesn't necessarily notice personal things like Adelle not liking her new position and Adelle as his mother figure does need to discipline him. It's just a hard time for the both of them, but in the end they seem better because of it. Oh and don't even get me started on him treating her with no respect. One of the times I truly did not like Topher at all! As well as her threatning to maim him. That was the worst. During that time it was so hard to watch them and their scenes, but thanks to Epitaph One, I knew that things would sort of get better, at least intimacy wise, with the both of them.
Well, the fact that Adelle went all Rossum friendly pushed Topher to follow his own moral compass and help Echo. But it makes completely sense, what she's doing. And yeah. Epitaph One was also why it was extra painful. Because then you've seen the close relationship, which they haven't really had in the show before then, not as openly, anyway. The only times that were close was in Belonging. I dunno if seeing them treat each other would be so painful if we hadn't also said how close they could be. But man, at the end of The Attic, when you see Adelle tell Echo thank you... And then it zooms out to show them all... It was probably my happiest moment of the entire series for me.
I think seeing them treat each other badly was mainly painful because we'd already seen how close they could be. It's only natural for us to be hurt by it, plus it was a really serious time for the both of them. Things were extremely hard, so for them to take it out on each other was painful and add to that the fact that we already saw a natural intimacy with them in Epitaph One made it that much more hurtful.
Oh yes! That was an awesome shot. I think all the shots in The Attic were pretty brilliant. :D Just a great ep overall!
