I told my short stories class today that I didn't like my (gay, whiny, bitchy) protagonist, and I mentioned that I wanted to kill him off at the end of my story (but I didn't - he lived). I think they might think I'm a homophobe now. Apparently, the character was sympathetic to *someone* - but definitely not to me, heh.

In retrospect, their reaction of semi-stunned silence to my comment was kind of funny, but holy awkward!
