Summary: Lee Sungmin is a trained hitman by the codename ‘MIN’. His only sole purpose is to kill his assignments regardless of their backgrounds. So why did, one fateful night, on the brink of death, he met Cho Kyuhyun? The one who taught him the meaning of life. But then why life, had to be so full of twisted humour?
The heavy rain went pitter patter pitter patter, thrumming relentlessly all over his cold soaked body. The coldness was numbing. Good. At least I don’t need to put up with the pain. Sungmin thought through his already fogged up mind. The blood, his blood was being washed away from the open wound of his unmoving body by the rain. I am dying… and all I can think about is that there is no pain. He thought ironically. He thought of the life he never had and how he wished that he could hug Mr. Bunny one last time. It really sucks to die in a dark alley, on the cold and hard ground, being drenched with rain that only fastened the process of death.
His death.
That was his only regret.
Kinda silly, wasn’t it?
But that was the only calming thought he had.
The strong shall live. The weak shall die. That was what had been instilled into his mind for as long as he could remember. And right now, that was his position. He was weak. He allowed himself a moment of weakness and it became his downfall. One mistake was all it took to take him down. Ironically, all his life has revolved around death. He was never afraid of it but never did he wish to embrace it. Death followed him wherever he went. Death sat by his side when he slept fitfully. Death was his only companion, except Mr. Bunny of course. And now, Death wants to claim his prize.
“I should just let it...” His coarse voice came barely as a whisper, drowned by the heavy rain.
It’s just that it is unfair. Life is all about unfairness. He didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to Mr. Bunny. And that is unfair. UNFAIR!!!! How he longs to go back to those wonderful days where it was filled with happy childhood memories before everything turned into darkness and the future looked bleak. His hands stained with blood. No matter how much he washes them, the blood will never go away for his very soul was stained with his victims’ blood.
He laughed but that action only aggravated his wounds and he ended up coughing painfully. He curled up even more, as if protecting himself. He could no longer feel the rain beating against his numb skin and his consciousness is slowly slipping away as darkness was beckoning him with its sweet lullaby, welcoming him into their endless embrace of eternal longing. It was all so tempting...
But then, he forced himself back into alertness. He was sure he heard footsteps. Sloppy footsteps. His ears perked for another sound but found none. Sungmin pried his eyes open, trying to fight back the darkness that threatened to consume his consciousness. The black dots swirling around his vision didn’t help at all.
“Hello?”
His instincts kicked into full force. He tightened his hold on his Mamba and pointed it at the direction of the voice.
“WOAH!!” The dark figure stopped and held his hands up.
“Back off!” Sungmin growled, gritting his teeth from the sudden burst of pain from his sudden movement. No way in hell was he going to let his opponent take him down. It was enough humiliation that he suffered a fatal wound and he was sure that he was going to die from blood loss but he wasn’t about to go down easily. Not without a fight.
“You’re losing a lot of blood!!” The dark figure exclaimed.
Great, Einstein. Took a genius to actually notice that! “Stop right there or I’ll blow your freaking...” He didn’t manage to finish his threat when a series of violent coughing took over. As he fell, this time, he welcomed the darkness for he no longer cared. Screw this...
“Hey? HEY!!” The dark figure had jogged hurriedly to his side and collected the limp figure into his arms. “Keep awake! Don’t sleep!! HEY!!”
So noisy... Sungmin thought hazily. It’s the first time since forever since I am able to fall asleep. He weakly tried to push the man, he was sure it was a man because his cold palm encountered a broad and slightly muscular chest. “I...” At least I want to see the face of the man who sees me die. Once again, he used all his energy and pried his heavy eyelids open. His vision flickered but what he saw will forever be engraved into his soul. Endless dark brown eyes that stared right into his black soul, taking his breath away and sealing his voice before he finally succumbed to oblivion.
But his last thought was, I want to live!

A/N: *scratches head* Okay... I did not know how it manifested into this way. An idea just hit me suddenly this morning and I just had to write it out before I forgot all about it. Kyumin is my bias and so I couldn’t just let it disappear without sharing it with all my other Kyumin bias-es!! Please comment. I would like to know how my first attempt went... *sparkly eyes*
