The main characters are fabulous plus sexy plus talented plus plus plus... ( I will never be able to stop) I can't really comment on the other characters because I haven't seen them really in action yet. ^ ^;; But Kobayashi is kinda cute with those big eyes of hers and her small face. She looks like she is going to break if anyone so much touches her. LOL... But so far, I don't have any complaints about her acting.
The background music was really good. It really suits the drama. All dark and eerie but at the same time, compelling and mysterious. I will definitely try my best to find MAOU OST when it comes out.
'Truth' was just out of this world. I'm surprised that Arashi managed to finish the single just in time for the drama. They must have worked their arse off hard to get it out in time. And it is just perfect...
I didn't manage to watch the last 15 minutes of the first episode because I had to fetch my younger sister from her part-time job. *sobs* And I hope I can remember the drama and put down the summary for those who were unfortunate to be not able to watch it.
::SPOILERS::
(I'm gonna skip the boring parts because I didn't really pay attention to it and you can watch it when the episode comes out)
- In the beginning, someone was walking in an empty and dark alley. There was this boy with an outstretched bloodied hand towards the blurred figure. The figure was Naruse who placed a bouquet of flowers on the ground where his brother had died.
- In the courthouse, a man (unknown) was pronounced innocent and he ran to thank the lawyer, Naruse Ryo (Ohno) for helping him. (I had actually wanted to see Ohno in action at the courthouse *sobs*)
- Next, you have Serizawa Naoto (Ikuta) running after a criminal, cornering him at the rooftop and he threatened to drop the criminal unless he confessed. Then his colleagues arrived and screamed at him to release the criminal which he kinda did (LOL) but was still holding him by the legs. Then he confessed and was dragged back up.
- But unknown to Serizawa, someone was watching him through camera lens and an outstretched hand (I assume that it belongs to Ohno <3) sort of like giving off the vibe of wanting to strangle Serizawa.
- Moving on, Ohno in the shower scene. (Too bad it only showed the upper body and it ended too fast!) He left the bathroom, wrapped in only a towel and was towelling himself dry. He got dressed and entered into a red room where loads of photos were pasted on the walls. (I assume that the different people in those photos had a connection with Serizawa)
- Naruse took out a knife and stabbed Serizawa's photo (neck area). *shudders*
- Then, Serizawa went back to the station, got an earful from his superior for being reckless. (Boring part) And he insists that he is doing his best by working hard. He went back to his desk where his female colleague told him that a parcel had arrived for him. The sender was 'Amano Makoto'. He said that he didn't know who the sender was and felt that it was weird when he only found a tarot card in it, 'Atonement for Past Sins'.
- Serizawa runs out of the station and bangs into someone. He quickly apologized and the other person said it was okay. It was Naruse. Serizawa asked whether Naruse was a lawyer and Naruse introduced himself by giving Serizawa a namecard. When Serizawa said 'Hajimemashite', Naruse had a really scary look on his face. Then he ran off again.
- Next scene, you have a girl telling Sakita Shiori (Kobayashi) that one of her earrings is missing and Shiori offers to search for the missing earrings. This is where we see her psychic powers being put into use and she manages to find the other missing earring.
- Shiori met Naruse in a library? Bookshop? Not sure. And Ohno wanted a book at which Shiori helps him with. She asked him whether they have met or not and he asked, "Boku to? (Me?)" Then she shook her head and said that it was probably mistaken. And he just left.
- Serizawa was asked to go to a party in a formal suit but knowing him, he didn't. He met with his father who is of some important influence and his family lawyer who was later called by someone and he left. (We all know it's Naruse because there were scenes where Naruse called from a pay phone with black gloves)
- The next day, the lawyer was found dead and naturally, Serizawa went berserk and he started searching for clues and he found then same tarot card he had received earlier but the parcel came with a red knife. And it was by the same sender also.
- And so, they searched for this 'Amano Makoto' fella.
- There were parts where Naruse kept on thinking back to his brother: How good he was with the harmonica and their good relationship and so on.
- Shiori's help was needed to search for the murderer. Serizawa was told that his family's lawyer had used the knife and had tried to stab the other person who was with him. Shiori couldn't see the murderer's face and can only see the blackish figure of his back. Naturally, Serizawa said this was nonsense and will definitely not believe this and left.
Okay... I had to stop there. (Sister = Trouble)
I hope this is sufficient for you till the show comes out.
I'm going to watch the re-run later in the afternoon so probably I can fill in the blanks later.

I watched the ratings earlier and it was rated No.3 in the hottest TBS TV programmes while the appearance of the Hanadan cast in the Tokyo Friend Park II was No.1!! (Rating: 20.2%)
