I do not disturb him while he tosses and mutters. My mother had dreams like this. I did not inherit that gift but I know a الرّؤية when I see one. This is no ordinary dream...but then something changes, and now he MUST awake. Quickly.

*moving to cradle the Ranger's head in my lap, shaking him gently* Halbarad. Come back.

I watch Gorlim's form grow distant, and hope that he has found his way. For a moment, I am lost in thought, lost in the quiet nothingness around me.

Halbarad. Come back.

Nadiyah. I turn, see our camp, see her kneeling at my head, see her holding me. I move towards her, following her voice.

*wakes with a start, mind clouded with sleep and disoriented*

*strokes your hair* You were calling for Gorlim, at one point. I know we have business in the north, but...I think perhaps you are needed more back in Gondor. Can you ride?

*pushes self into seated position, limbs heavy with the cold of the dreamscape; shudders at the remembered touch of it*

Mith...We need to call him back. *tries to shake fog from thoughts*

*slinks out of the surrounding shadows, firelight glinting in his eyes*

Always come back. Hmph. Human.

*lies down beside Nadiyah and settles his muzzle on his paws*

*tousles Mith's ruff absently, rubbing behind his ears then smoothing down his back* In the morning. We go back in the morning. We go HOME in the morning.

*leans into her touch, tail thumping the ground*

Female wise. Always listen.

Rub!

*rolls onto side and rubs up against his humans*

*shakes head again and moves to get up* Gorlim...He did...Someone hurt him...

*stops rubbing Mith's belly (with an apologetic murmur to the wolf in her own tongue) and helps you up, catching your blanket as it slides loose and wrapping it around your shoulders*

Then we go back NOW. Are you well enough to saddle the horses while I strike the camp?

*pulls the blanket close and nods, taking a moment to awkwardly kiss your cheek*

Mith.

*gestures towards the saddle bags and bridles arranged on the ground; watches the wolf fetch them*

*quietly packs up the gear and rolls away the blankets, exceptng of course the one you're still clutching like a cloak* If we ride like hell, we can be back by sundown tomorrow. I suggest we ride like hell.

Yes. *thoughts are a little clearer now; I exchange the blanket for a cloak and roll it up before helping you pack the ponies and then handing your horse's reins to you. I sway a little as I move to mount.*

*squeezes your hand* I'll be fine. Just cold. *shakes self, finally shedding some of the chill, but not enough*

*glances at the pair and makes a small, curious noise*

Home now?
