You know he is dead now. Now you know. Lincoln and Michael are on your television screen saying things you cannot hear over the sound of your own heart breaking. You know he is dead. You are just waiting for confirmation. You are waiting for them to show up. You and them fatherless once again. You thought you were prepared for this possibility. Eventuality. You had told him. “You’ll get yourself killed Aldo.”* You hate being right. You wish Lincoln would just pick up a phone and say it. “Aldo’s dead.” Make it real. Confirm what you already know.
