So I went and spent the day with Sako and E and while they went to see Zombieland again, I decided to check out Paranormal Activity 'cause Pandorum was out of the theaters (sad face). It.. was actually really good. I'd heard absolutely NOTHING about this movie until I saw it on the showtimes for the theater. But it was an honest to goodness decently done ghost/paranormal/supernatural flick; managed to cultivate that same terror of the unknown that I haven't seen since The Haunting.
Very realistic and this is coming from me. I don't have the same kind of experience under my belt that some do, but enough to know when someone's done their homework. I'd like to think that I'm pretty down to earth when it comes to the unexplained so all the sensational crap, like those 'ghost hunting' shows on TV that've been taking off recently- they're just embarrassing and I think it's all a disservice to things and events that might actually have merit to them.
Not that Paranormal Activity is doing anything special, but it's a far cry from the rest of the crap out there. Refreshingly creepy.
More as the Chronoplast turns.
