As of this writing, it has been 71 days since my Wheel episode aired. I have to wait a maximum of 120 days for the check to arrive, but I heard most people get theirs roughly around the 100 day mark. So another month or so, right?
Yesterday, I open my mailbox and pull out a large white envelope with the words 'Wheel of Fortune' in the top left corner. My eyes widen and I run inside excitedly. I open the envelope expecting to see a nice big, beautiful check that I'll probably photocopy and frame. What do I find inside? A letter that congratulates me and asks if I want to submit a story for the '
Wheel Changes Lives' section, a submittal form, and a self-addressed-stamped-envelope. No check. Aww... what a letdown.
Well, submitting a story will be fun and all, but... you know, a physical check in hand would be sweet.
To be honest, I kinda doubt my story would be all that exciting. It's not like I drastically changed my life or anything. Most of the money I get to keep after taxes will go towards Max's college fund and finally replacing the patio doors and windows. Ooh... exciting.
Oh, and that diamond-encrusted swimming pool.
