We've been wanting to get a Wii for quite a while now. One time, long long LONG ago, we actually saw it in a store, but we were trying to save on cash so we passed on it. Of course, nowadays my frugality has been relaxed quite a bit. Not that I've crazy with buying sprees or anything. I still have Max's college fund as top priority. Anyhoo...
Sunday morning at 8:30am I saw that Circuit City claimed to have 15 in stock and giving out vouchers in a half hour. I quickly showered and bolted out the door and got there promptly at 9am. To my surprise, there was only one other person waiting outside. Score! A sign was posted saying that they had less than the 15 items in stock as mentioned in the ads, but neglected to say how many. As long as the number is more than 2, I'm safe. I park myself on the cold cold sidewalk and played some Peggle on my iPod. About a half hour later a third person comes by to wait in line. Then at 9:45, someone finally comes out and gives us each a numbered voucher for the Wii and is also surprised on seeing just the three of us. He tells us that they only got FIVE Wiis that day. If any more show up in line for that, they'd be put on the special order list. Luckily, nobody else showed up, so Circuit City dodged a bullet there. 10:05 am I got the Wii in hand. Woohoo!
Went home, picking up some breakfast on the way, and waited till Max's afternoon nap to set it up. Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii! Niki and I spent a lot of time Bowling and Golfing before Max finally woke up. It was a lot of fun. Looks like we finally have a gaming system that my wife can really get into. Hooray!

Oh and if you still watch Wheel of Fortune regularly, tonight is the start of the 3-week Chicago shows... the ones that I originally auditioned for. First week is College Students, then Family Week, and then finally the Chicago sports fans. I didn't fit into any of those themes, which is why I was asked to go to LA instead. Hmm, I'll finally see what puzzles I might've been given if I had any parents or siblings nearby or knew anything about football or baseball. Yay.
