Harry Potter (no spoilers, just bad jokes)
Friday night, we went with friends to Naperville's celebration of Harry Potter's coming out. Wait, that didn't sound right. Anyway, all the shops had themed names like Weasley's Wizardly Wiis (Gamestop) and Hagrid's Hair Salon. But my favorite of all was "Slytherin's House of Shoes". Ah yes, I loved it in Book 3.5 when Draco went on an epic journey to find the perfect pair of Dockers.
Did I go in costume? You bet I did! I was dressed as "He Who Must Not Be Trying Too Hard". Now THERE was a character I could relate to! Actually, we did see some interesting costumes like Dumbledore, house elves, Hagrid, etc... also spotted was a pirate (?!?) and a pimp. A pimp?!? Yeah, my first thought: he's got witches and hos. *rim shot*
We had dinner at Harry Potter's Place (a mexican restaurant actually named Potter's Place) and shared our thoughts on how book 7 will end. Some suggestions: Harry was a ghost all along named Rosebud, Hermione was a dude, Voldemort was Harry's dad, Harry sees Voldemort walk through a door and then the final page is completely black, etc... My theory is either Harry chokes on a sandwich on the last page, or he wakes up next to Suzanne Pleshette.
