(no subject)
the study abroad program ended two weeks ago and since then i've been to nanjing and beijing. sadly, i did not do a damn thing while in nanjing other than sleep, read, and chill in my hotel room as i needed to decompress. then i went to beijing for about 10 days. didn't make it to xi'an because i wanted to meet up with a friend in beijing and i tried to buy my train ticket too late. but its okay b/c i have been able to spend a few days in shanghai. returning to shanghai was like going home. i'm strangely comfortable in this city even though i'm currently staying a part of it that i hadn't been to before. i have one more day here and then its back to oregon and back to real life. there's a paper to write and another school year to prepare for. but more importantly, a new roommate to prepare for. meaning i must make room in my apartment for another person and i could not be happier. i get to live with him again, fall asleep and wake up next to him. but for now, i'm focusing on china and enjoying my last day here. tomorrow will be full of bargaining, dumplings, and not understanding what anyone is saying. i cannot wait to come back and see more of this country.
