It only needs an engine.
My mechanic called to inform me that he found a used engine with only 31,000 miles on it with a one year guarantee for only $700. I then asked him if that meant that it wasn't a stuck thermostat causing the air in the radiator lines, and the plume of white smoke from the exhaust prior to it redlining (temp. gauge) for the third time. He laughed. So did I.
173,000 + and almost 5 years of ownership. At least I paid it off in June, and so it didn't owe me anything, so to speak.
No car = bummer. Looking at Pontiac Vibe, Grand Prix, and a Honda Civic tomorrow. Need to get a car by this weekend so ready by Monday when I return the rental to Rent-a-Wreck. Someone suggested a Honda Fit to me, but not sure if I would feel comfortable in a sub-compact having had a Buick Century, Volvo 240, and Chrysler LeBaron as the last three. I've been spoiled. =P
