Well, I've just gotten my first grade this semeseter, and let me tell you, it doesn't look promising.
I got a C on my first test in Modern Political Thought. Even though this might hurt my GPA (right now, anything but all A's would) I'm still somewhat impressed with myself. I was in class only sparingly, I was often late, I barely paid attention when I was there, and I didn't even read the assigned readings. And I still managed to scrape a C.
Needless to say, though, I'll try harder in that class. My Mom has gotten used to bragging about her genius son who's going to become a lawyer, and I'd hate to disappoint her.
I'm starting to have doubts about whether I want to be a lawyer, though. I keep thinking that maybe I'd rather be a teacher. I remember throughout High School that was what I wanted to be, but I changed it when I got to college. But then if I do decide to be a teacher, there's less guarantee of a job being available. There's always jobs for lawyers.
Anybody got any advice?
PS. What does quixotic mean?
