Delayed in Japan.

Jan 08, 2004 21:10

It`s 9:10 and Im in the Hilton Narita in Japan. I should be on a flight back home to NY. I just paid 660 YEN to be online for 30 minutes. So its the New Year and my life is already over.

My plan was supposed to leave Shanghai at 2:10 and get to Tokyo at 5:45, giving me just under an hour to make my connecting flight to NY. Nope, the first flight was delayed over an hour because supposedly there was a bomb on it. Well, what the captain said in heavily accented English was `a foreign device with an independent power source.` So I get to Tokyo at 7ish and along with many, many other people, are forced to stay overnight because the next flights were all full.

So I call Marie Kobayashi (who coincidentally was with Shaun) to see if she wanted to hang out but little did I know that Narita International is actually two hours from Tokyo, so it would be too late. Now I`m alone in a REALLY foreign country and have nothing to do.

This is so awful, I thought that my worst experience would be getting SARS (thank goodness that didn`t happen). But no, it gets worse. Plus this stupid Japanese keyboard is arranged odd so that I can`t even use commas. Atleast I have Friends DVDs and my laptop (WOOT!)

NYSSMA All-County is this Saturday and Lauren and I are going to make the trek to Tilles to see Sydney and my friends. I`m such a music dork, its true.

I`m looking forward to going home, and then home to DC and my friends. Spring 2004 is going to get even better and hopefully Ryan`s gone.

Someone get me Dan Brown`s `Angels and Demons` or is it the other way around?

I`m going to try and be chipper but for now: Arigatou gozaimasu from Japan, see you all really soon!
