Counting down...

The packing has begun in our place for the big move next week. It’s a mere 3 days until I’m closing the site, and I desperately need the time afterwards to pack the studio. This will likely be the last posting until after we’re settled in our new apartment. So much to do!!!

Luckily we had a brief chance to visit the lake early in the week, and we had one of the best times that we’ve had up there. It was a beautiful day on Tuesday--the weather was perfect and we had lots of fun wildlife encounters…

First, and most exciting, was the little fawn that we had the privilege of meeting. A friend of the family has taken care of her since just a few days old. The fawn’s mother was hit by a car and our dear mountain-man friend is known in the area for helping out in times like these. At this point, she is nearly 3 months old and just starting to shed her spots:

We were able to feed her:

His friendly dog is jealous of the bottle so she gets a bit too:

Abby and the fawn playing:

It was so great to get so close and observe her. We took a ton of photos, of course! We also went kayaking and fishing (Justin caught a few small bass that he threw back, I as always caught nada). There was also a beautiful patch of butterflies that were all over a certain flower:

Hope everyone is having a delight of a summer.
