good to be back!
whew!
after what felt like a long 2 weeks or so of hiatus, it feels good to start getting back into the swing of things. just after new year's celebrations, we took a little family vacation. though very fun, relaxing, it was good to get home. i also came to learn that i am not a beach person, much to my mom's dismay!
... to digress a little, my mom and her "10 friends" or something like that just won a cruise! my mom plays in a local steel drum band, and the members are all a very tight-knit group of women. one wrote an essay for a contest and voila! they won! needless to say they are SO excited, and i'm thrilled for them. since they're cruising to the caribbean, it seems fitting that they play steel drums down there. they may even be on good morning america, and i'll write more when i learn the details.
so we came back from vacation, and off we were packing & getting ready for our move. days later, as we walked into the house we rented, there was the smell of a gas-leak in the place. and we're not talking just near the stove. it reeked of gas: living room, kitchen, hall. upstairs was the awful smell of cat-piss, strong as could be. i won't get into all the other absurdities, but luckily we got our money back. and just like that we had to find another place in a matter of hours. luckily again, we found a great place--a hundred times better and full of potential. we're excited to be settling there today. and so is our dear miss lucky:

and hooray for SALES! the site has just been updated with sale prices on lots of stuff. badge-pendants are now only $18, badges just $5.50, and nightlights are $25. all prices in effect until january 31, or until supplies run out. we're getting ready to introduce new items in february & beyond, so the sale must happen!
