my last day in paris was unsurprisingly unexciting. it was similar to any other day, aside from the wretched feeling that it may be the last time i ever (insert event here: ride the 27 bus, walk along the seine, eat a viennoise chocolate, etc). in any case, i woke up at about 8 am after poorly sleeping. i finished watching good burger (which by the way is even more excellent than i remembered) and then packed some. eventually, i made plans with laura and laura to have a piquenique in the bois du boulogne. it's so big that we barely breached it. but, we did find a nice little abandoned shelter to protect us from the rain while we ate our lunch. then, a man came by and asked if he could sit with us. it was really awkward and he was overly persistent. it was actually kind of scary. laura preston tried to give him a cookie, and he wanted her to feed it to him. he was really sketch and it was really gross. and he wouldn't stop poking me. he kept asking us if it was okay if he sat with us, assuring us that "c'est normale, quoi." well, we didn't think it was normale and we wanted him to skidaddle (sp?). finally he did, after we told him many a time that we didn't want him to be there. we finished out picnic and left.
laura i went to go stuff before babysitting. laura p and i tried to go to a movie, but she didn't like any of the choices. so, we just walked up to the seine. on the way, a man told me "je te connais." and i was like, "euh...." then he was like "tu te souviens? bercy? avec tes copines?" and then i remembered. it was david, of abdul and david, that jill, ren, and laura i and i hung out with in the parc bercy one time. we taught them how to play champong and flip cup and they smoked us up. then, they wanted to have their way with us, but jill and i weren't having that. they gave us their numbers, but we obviously didn't call them. it was rather awkward to run into him on boulevard st germain. after getting to the seine, laura p and i decided we were too lazy do to anything and i rode the 27 bus home after getting a nice tacky university of paris t-shirt.
at home, i finished packing. then i had my last dinner with caroline and clement. i was/am sad to leave them and i sincerely hope to see them in the near future. unfortunately, all three of us are awful at keeping in touch.
then, i went down to the mailbox to mail myself a letter.
