Allow me to expand.
This idea would be all well and good if there was a labour shortage in the private sector, but as anyone who has applied for a job in the last... oh, year and a bit will tell you, that is as far from the case as it is possible to be. There are barely any jobs going as it is, with private industry suffering the squeeze of the global economic meltdown.
But, you know, if this Government can make something Not Their Problem, by going they're going to.
