I think it's funny that nearly everyone in the anime club hates me because I think we shouldn't repeat so much of the anime we show. I don't mean like jokingly hate me, I mean they seriously hate me

You skipped about a year of club, so you might be a little behind. Sure, in the three meetings we've had so far this semester, we haven't made any repeats. But allowing our "near-perfect" voting process to remain the only deciding factor is not going to solve anything. This near perfect process has shown us Vandread three times, Onegai Teacher four times (two sets of episodes each time), Fruits Basket three or four times, Kare Kano three times, and so forth, all within the last four semesters. The problem really lies with the flow of membership opinion moving away from seeing fresh, different titles, and toward watching the same favorites over and over again. Hell, if you look at what's been up for voting in the last three meetings, we've seen Vandread within the last year, and we watched Outlaw Star twice last semester. It's a serious problem.
What I've heard from the opposition is that I've become "elitist." I suppose this is because they think I hate their favorite shows. If these people so desperately want to watch their favorites again, they can do it on their own time. If they want to show them to other people, they should make some friends, show it at their place, lend out their copies. Use the club to organize those showings, like we used to when I first joined. If some NEW member hasn't seen the old stuff and really wants to, they THEY can go make friends with people who have it, try to watch it at their places or borrow it.
We just don't need to keep watching the same shit in club over and over. Because really, if we keep repeating so much stuff, we're just going to alienate long time members like myself, because the club simply won't offer anything for us.
