does anyone know how to get them not to jump all over you head while you're in bed? we've tried letting him cuddle with us but he's rather jump and claw at our necks. so we've been putting him in his room (utility room) all night, and he yowls ALL. NIGHT. (alex's dad said that he'll get used to it in about a week or so ( Read more... )

also, make sure he has a soft/warm place to sleep in there with water, food etc (which I'm sure you have in there already, just making sure I dont miss something). you can fill a water bottle up with warm water and wrap it in a towel or something so he can lay by it, and put a towel or the shirts by it so he can feel like he's sitting on your lap. heating pads set on low work too, but it's a bad idea if he's a cord-chewer.

with cords, if the bitter apple doesn't work (or you don't want it sprayed by your eletronics) you can also try bunching them together and wrapping tape around them sticky-side out (double sided tape would get your cords sticky too). Cats HATE when things stick to them, so if he paws or bites them and it's sticky, it'll make him mad and he'll quit. same goes for anywhere you don't want him to be/claw . . . just put double-sided tape there and once he gets stuck to it he'll quit doing it.

haha, as far as the walking on the keyboard . . . they do that forever, so invest in a sturdy one.

lol if you have any other questions, just IM me or something, because I'm currently fostering kittens, and they make numbers 3 and 4 as far as kittens go. I'm a total dorky-cat-lady, so I've read EVERYTHING on kitty-rearing.

thanks! the shirt thing worked really well. earlier in the evening he had been cuddling up with me and sleeping, and we tried just letting him do that, btu after about an hour he woke up and attacked us. so we put the tshirts in his bed, and he slept all night!

thank you SOOOOOO much!
