What do you do when you have no electricity?

A story in short: It's been twenty four hours. A tree fell on the roof of the building knocking out power causing a dying generator to elapse.
We're trying to keep it cheery but the technicians don't want to be bothered anymore with" when will power return?"

So we light candles, (lots of them) pretend we're in one huge giant tent, read books to the little one , go out to dinner, possibly also breakfast and/or lunch. Who knows? Cold cold water. At least we have heat. Oh yes, there's still some heart left.

Ivry will go either to the Science or Children's Museum in Pittsburgh. I will head to the Carnegie Research Library and write and work.

Returning from dinner, we opened the curtains to let lights spill in. But the uncertainity is what caves me in reminding me of the period of living forty days in other peoples' houses during the second Israeli-Lebanese war. Better not to trod down that path. Still uncertainty is uncertainty. Wish us luck. It's much more than just survival.
