Here's some rambling...

So out of the blue one day a while back, hubby declares he's starting a tshirt business. I think, "whatever," and that's about it. Well, turns out he was serious. A couple thousand dollars later (as I discovered on my credit card receipt) we are now the proud owners of a heat press and a large quantity of garments. Yay.

My attitude about the whole thing WAS fairly negative to indifferent. I figured it wouldn't really pan out but at the same time, why not try? Other than the fact that it's a lot of money that we don't have...

So this weekend was our first tshirt selling opportunity. At the basketball tournament for our little school, we set up our little tshirt shop. We offered the standard design (that hubby created) on tshirts, long sleeved shirts and hoodies. We also offered to put names and bball numbers on the sleeves or back for an extra fee. The big kicker was the photo shirt. We set up our camera and took pictures of players so their moms could have shirts with pictures that say, "I HEART #21!" Or whatever they wanted it to say. The moms went CRAZY for those things!

Today was the second day, tomorrow is the last day. We are already 95% sold out of EVERYTHING. We have made all our money back and even got ourselves a little profit already (which we are giving to the basketball team as fundraiser money because the boys helped us all weekend).

We also already have business lined up for other tournaments, and a couple church events. One with over 800 shirts! All of which we will be keeping the profits from. Needless to say, I am eating my shoe...or whatever the appropriate cliche is for being dead wrong about something.

AND...it was really fun. So I guess we make tshirts now.
