my Oscar pick...
...is not "The Aviator."
I'm not saying it's not a good movie, because it's a well-done movie, but I didn't think it was as good as the one other Best Picture nominee I've seen, "Ray."
And I don't think Leo will get Best Actor, either. Maybe it's just me, but I saw too much Leo and not enough Howard Hughes. You really weren't able to suspend that disbelief the way you're able to with Jamie Foxx in "Ray." There was only one moment in "Ray" where you realized you were watching Jamie Foxx, but there were several moments in "The Aviator" where you realized you were watching Leo.
Alright, off to bed soon. Got a friend who's getting married in the morning, so I've got that to go to... and I found out earlier that my friend Kim in Canada is now engaged, so we'll see when I'll (hopefully) be off to the Great White North for that wedding.
