Welcome, foolish mortals, to the Haunted Mansion!
[How fortunate, being beckoned into an entry room with seemingly no windows, doors, or other possible exits. What's more, the room appears to be stretching out above you! But hold on. As soon as you think you may plot your escape, the lights cut out. All is silent and still...
Until a sudden shriek pierces through the room. A small crash beckons you to look blindly toward the sound, and in its wake, the wall seems to peel away, opening into a long, dimly lit hall.]
Oh, I didn't mean to frighten you prematurely... [A distant voice echoes throughout the hall, laughing, almost mockingly.] The real chills come later. Now, as they say... look 'alive.'
[After wandering for some time, you'll eventually happen upon an open hall. It's the dinner hall, and the large, imposing table at the end of the room is filled to the brim with a plethora of the freshest foods. And if you look closely, all of your favorites are there, too! Perhaps someone was here...? Now, this big old mansion may not be so terrible after all, don't you think? Don't mind the cobwebs. And I'm sure the eyes in those paintings will be easy enough to ignore...]
