Today was a pretty chill day; made some cash without even really working too hard. I wish every day could be as easy and profitable as today.
But with intent of ruining festivities (I'm easily amused/pleased, it seems), insomnia has decided to rain on my parade. So it's a quarter-to-six, and I'm still wide awake, but nonetheless in a pretty chipper mood.
I'll end this post by saying that today, as we all know, was Barack Obama's presidential inauguration. It's the first that I've ever willingly witnessed, and I guess that it's due to the fact that it was (and is) a historical event. I don't really dabble too much in politics, but like him or not, he's broken down a lot of barriers and given hope too many people who were looking for a sharper and better level of leadership.
The naysayers can complain all they want, but he's still the 44th president. Regardless of whether or not he screws up, I doubt that he'll screw up more than Bush.
By screwing up, I don't mean that baseless, uninformed and super-cool "yeah! fuck bush, woo!" form of thinking. This is meant more-so in a "not-being-a-deceptive-war-mongrel" way.
Let us hope that the road that we travel ahead in, as a nation, contains less potholes than these past eight years. I believe that this is the true "hope" that we can believe in; and the basis of his campaign.
