(no subject)
So yesterday Alicia and I, along with a couple of her friends from the roller derby team, road tripped it to the bustling metropolis of Dayton, Ohio (ha) to the Naptown Roller Girls vs, the Gem City Roller Girls bout. Of course, we kicked so much ass, it was a total blowout. I think the final score was 121 to 59. Anyway, I got to meet a few of the players and alternates. I rode there with "Anaslaysia" and "Slammy Faye". I met "Jen X", "Jane Ire", "Fin Addict", "Juicy J", "Mizz Undastood", and "J Roller". Theyre all a cool bunch of girls. One of the players "4 Leaf Cleaver" actually went to school with Alicia and I. She was in the symphony with us, she also played cello. I know her as Deanna Foster, hehe. And the coach of the team always looked so familar to me. He goes by the name "Mr. Whip". Turn out, it was a guy who graduated with us, Mark Brockelhurst. I was like, "d'oh" when Alicia told me. I never woulda figured it out, since he has a full beard now. So after the bout, everyone from both teams plus fans met up at a local bar and mingled. I told the girls that I'm trying out for the team next year, and I'm gonna get some skates and practice and stuff. They were all for it, especially the idea of having twins on the team. (im trying to talk Alicia into trying out, too). Plus, the team needs some ethinicity hehe. Right now it's just a bunch of white chicks. :P Oh, and get this, a lot of the chicks that tried out hadn't even seen a roller derby bout before, and also, some of em have barely skated before. WTF? How do you get on the team and dont have the first clue about skating or derby rules and stuff? Jeez, if that's the case, I'm being chosen first to join the team next season without actually trying out. Since I at least know the game, I have more of an edge than others.
ee, i cant wait till tryouts....next summer. :| wah
