I jsut got done seeing V for Vendetta and I want to highly recomend it to anyone who wants to see a movie that really makes you think. Someone who isn't happy with the way things are. A supported terrorist. It actually reminds me of a quote my history teacher in 8th grade. "The government only works by the concent of the govorned." I'm sure he wasn't the first, but its true. Just think about that. Now I'm just sitting here, listening to Frank Tichelli. Probably the greatest composer of our time. I love his work. Right now I'm listening to an American Elegy, the song he wrote for the Columbine shooting in 1996. Its filled with such hope. I cried the first time I heard this song. And I was sight reading it in the Moorehead Band Clinic I attened in High School! Its that moving. Its a brilliant piece. If you've never heard it, take the 10 minutes and really listen to it. The more you know about it, the more you appreciate it. Like that Tichelli wrote them a fight song becasue they didn't have one and put it in the piece. The begining cord is the same as the last, the off stage trumpet... The feeling as the audience was deathly silent at the end. Durring the rest there was no sound. Silence... Ok, I promise I'll shut up now, but this is truly one of my favorite songs. The feeling of true hope. That no matter what, things can only get better.
I am an emotional rolarcoaster. Yesterday I was derpressed, but I'm glad I was depressed. Now I feel.... happy, enlightend if you will, and life is good. And Only getting better. I'm having people over for poker tonight and this weekend I'm spending it with my family. And learning Organic chemistry which really isn't that scary. I know I bitch about school a lot but honestly, its the only source of stress in my life. I'm trying to remember what happened in the last week, but I'm going to say nothing important because I can't remember. I have some awesome friends. And I'm glad I know who my friends are. And another bit of good news, I may have found someone to rent my room out to! One less stress! But anyways, Gotta run. Much love! ~Sarah
