Title: The Adventure of the Missing Doctor ch4 Rating: PG-13 Word Count: 611 Summary: Watson is kidnapped, and Holmes knows something isn't right. Warnings: umm....none...
D: WATSON!!! DAMMIT LESTRADE ARE YOU GOOD FOR ANYTHING?! YOU COULD HAVE AT LEAST STOPPED HELPING UP, UH, THE KILLER TO CHECK ON HIM!!! *slaps*
"I then had to bare the anticipation of tarrying and Lestrade’s gnawing presence while awaiting word." - Holmes, you can bear far more than I can. And again with the word choice! "Gnawing" is so perfect to describe being around someone like Lestrade. It is like he gnaws upon your soul. *swats* (Woah, I'm being violent towards him in this comment, even for me! :D)
The way Watson slowly regained his senses was really, really cool. I love how it mirrored his state of consciousness (poor dude. ;-;).
"My head was much clearer when next I awoke, which signified that no more of the opiate based medicine had been administered" - O-O That explains a lot. Uh, guys...? Maybe not the best idea?
“Doctor?” the voice was irritating, indicating that it was Inspector Lestrade." - Drop-kick does not cover this. Someone shove him out a window. :|
“That, in fear for my Boswell’s life, I have crushed his hand, thus rendering it numb.” - I cannot express how adorable and Holmes this is in words. x33 Enough said.
"I couldn’t conceive how he made it so far in the army when he couldn’t take a simple order." - xDD Because he's Watson. I laughed out loud - this is so Holmes, and the defiance so Watson. I love them both. <33 And yes, this was fantastic assurance that Watson is indeed back. x3
It was so incredibly nice to have such an awesome, happy ending to this. <3 I do not see what you are unhappy about AT ALL - I loved it! :D Just the right mix of everything to bring the story to a close. (And just the right ratio of comfort to Watson-kicking - true facts.) Marvelous, marvelous job!! :D
