A/n: Sorry I haven't updated this in a long time. I got really insanely busy because fall play is in 3 days!
Donghae sighed. He felt a little bit guilty. Lately, he’d been talking to Eunhyuk a lot about his problems. Not that Eunhyuk ever said anything to his about being sick of it. Usually, he just sat there and nodded, gave some helpful advice and smiled, telling him that it’d be okay. Donghae was really grateful. He knew he should get over Kibum, he knew it should’ve been easier than it was, but he just didn’t know how to go about doing it. Even though he told himself that he was okay and that he didn’t care, there was no denying that he did. And every time he saw them he was just reminded of how much he cared. He felt bad about burdening Eunhyuk with his problems, so he went to Yesung for advice instead. He figured it was okay, because Yesung was a nice guy.
He was surprised when Yesung told him what he thought of the situation.
“I’m going to be completely honest with you,” said Yesung, “your problems are that you expect too much and you don’t have any confidence. You expect to fall in love and have everything perfect, but it just can’t be that way. And then when it’s not that way you feel disappointed, like you’ve hit rock bottom.” Donghae frowned.
“So what do you do then?” he asked.
“Me?” said Yesung, “I just don’t expect anything. That way, no matter what they do I’m never disappointed.” Donghae frowned. If you didn’t expect anything, not even for them to like you, then could you really say you liked them at all? He thought about it all day and was thinking so hard that he ran into Eunhyuk.
“What’s the matter?” Eunhyuk asked, seeing Donghae’s frown and troubled expression.
“I went to Yesung for advice,” said Donghae, “and-,”
“Enough said,” said Eunhyuk, “really.” Donghae laughed.
“Tell you what,” said Eunhyuk, “since you’ve had a rough day how about we go someplace fun? Some of the members decided to hit the club tonight. Are you in?” Donghae smiled and nodded.
“Of course,” he said. He loved going to the club because when he was there he could just let go and forget about everything. His only worry was seeing Kyuhyun and Kibum there together. Still, putting that fear aside he told Eunhyuk he’d see him later and went to go get ready. Regardless of everything going on at the moment he was going to look good, that was for sure. Also, he had a few new dance moves he’d been wanting to show off for a while. He had a feeling that it was going to be a good night.
That night, as soon as everyone was ready, the members who wanted to go headed to the club. They all looked good, as usual, and they were all eager to go out and enjoy themselves. To Donghae’s annoyance, Kyuhyun and Kibum were most definitely going to the club too. He had expected as much from Kibum because he liked to dance too, but Kyuhyun didn’t usually dance, so he’d hoped they’d stay back at the dorms. He sighed and walked in front of them next to Sungmin and Eunhyuk. At least they way he didn’t have to look at them. When they got to the club, they split up, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Shindong, and Hankyung heading straight for the dance floor while Leeteuk, Sungmin, Heechul, Hankyung, and Siwon headed for the bar to buy drinks. Kibum and Kyuhyun headed for a table. They were both too young to really drink anyway.
From the dance floor, even though it was dark, Donghae could make out Kyuhyun’s form hugging Kibum’s form as they sat next to each other on the table. He imagined that Kibum must be bored because he was usually the first to the dance floor. He shrugged and turned away from them. He was going to have fun, with or without Kibum. A group of people moved into his line of vision, blocking Kibum from his sight. That was just fine with him. For a while, he and some of the other members dance, some drifting off the floor only to return a bit later. He busted out his new moves and was cheered on by the people watching. It felt good and he was having a great time. But, eventually he got tired, and he noticed Eunhyuk was gone.
He headed to the bar to buy something to drink and almost ran right into Eunhyuk.
“You’re not allowed here,” said Eunhyuk, “go back to the dance floor. Leave, turn around, shoo,” he said. Donghae sighed. He knew what Eunhyuk was trying to warn him of. Still, he didn’t turn back, he wasn’t sure why. It could’ve been the endorphins or just the fact that he was sick of being sad, but he headed straight for the bar, glanced quickly at Kibum and Kyuhyun, got his drink, and grabbed Eunhyuk. They headed for a table on the pavement just outside the club doors.
