A/n: Hello everyone. I finally have some free time and am starting another series fanfic. This one is called let's just laugh, but as a warning, there will be angst to come. Lot's of it. Still, I hope you like the story a lot, and thank you so much for not killing me for not posting in forever. <3
Donghae smiled as he snuggled up against Kibum. Even though he was lean, he had nice muscles that Donghae could feel even through the jacket Kibum was wearing. It had to be all that dancing and working out he did. Donghae didn’t mind. It was attractive, very attractive. Kibum looked over at him and smiled. Donghae felt his face start to burn up. Kibum had actually told him he liked him. He couldn’t have asked for more. Leaning in, he rested his head on Kibum’s shoulder. So they weren’t officially dating. It was alright with Donghae. As long as he could be with Kibum the way he was now, he could wait forever without ever being asked out. It had already been a month and he couldn’t remember a time when he’d ever been so happy. He wasn’t even uncomfortable when the other members cast looks over at them. It didn’t matter what they were thinking. As long as he could be with Kibum he was happy. Just as he thought that, Kibum stood up.
“Sooo, you and Kibum, huh?” said Leeteuk with a smile.
“What about us?” asked Donghae with a grin.
“You dating him yet???” pried Leeteuk.
“No,” said Donghae, “we just like each other a lot…that’s all.”
“Oh, of course,” said Leeteuk, rolling his eyes and standing up to go join the other members again. Donghae sighed. It was true, though he wished it wasn’t. Still, he wasn’t going to ask Kibum out so as not to pressure him. Donghae smiled and hugged the pillow Kibum had been leaning on. He missed Kibum already.
As soon as he heard his phone start to ring, Donghae whipped it out of his pocket and flipped it open. As he’d expected, it was a text from Kibum.
Hey, are you busy? It said.
Nope, not at all, Donghae replied. He and Kibum had made it a habit to talk to each other for at least an hour every night unless one of them was truly busy. Donghae waited anxiously for the reply from Kibum to come and when it did, he read it and texted back as quickly as possible. He told himself it was a silly thing to do, but he couldn’t really help it. He was falling for Kibum, really falling for him, and there was nothing he could do about it. He couldn’t remember a time when love had ever made him so happy. He’d had his heart broken so many times that he had almost given up, almost, until Kibum had appeared in his life like some kind of angel.
He and Kibum texted until he got tired. Bidding each other goodnight, he put his phone away and fell asleep, mind full of Kibum, heart full of love. When he woke up the next morning, he scoured his closet for the perfect outfit. He had to make sure that he looked amazing for Kibum. He wouldn’t want Kibum to think he didn’t dress well. Eating a quick breakfast, he piled into the van with the rest of the guys from his floor of the dorm and they headed to the company. He was anxious to find Kibum when he got there. It wasn’t often that they got to spend time together because Kibum was so busy with all of his different schedules.
He was surprised to see Kibum waiting for him when he got there. He ran over to Kibum and gave him a big hug.
“Hi,” he said, and Kibum nodded.
“Hey, Donghae,” said Kibum, “do you have anything scheduled for this afternoon?” Donghae’s eyes widened a little bit. Kibum was asking him about his schedule? It was strange, something that never happened. He was a little wary, but told himself it was a good thing that he was asking.
“Nope,” he replied, then a little suspiciously asked, “why?”
“Oh, no reason,” said Kibum flashing him his die smile. Donghae shrugged the foreboding feeling off and grabbed Kibum’s hand.
“Let’s go,” he said, pulling Kibum along down the hallway, “we have dance practice today. We wouldn’t want to miss that."
“I’ve got to go to a schedule,” he said, “I’ll text you when I can?” Donghae smiled and nodded, standing up and walking Kibum to the door. Kibum hugged him close and then gathered his stuff and left. Donghae watched as he left, sighing and sitting down on the couch alone.
