Huh. That was a hell of a thing.

Thanks to a wonderfully generous friend of mine, I am now caught up with Series Four. I pulled a marathon of episodes 10-13 (not having a job does have its occasional upside) this morning. I love my geek friends. SO MUCH.

I think you about summed up MY opinions, except that I liked the episode less than you did.

Speaking of, I can already see the thousands of Post-End Doctor/Rose AU fics that have now been given sanction.

Oh, yeah, there are a lot of such stories. Some of them are pure crack. A few, I genuinely like. Most authors are writing the "happily ever after with a few bumps along the way" version. I think Hand!Ten/Rose works better as a trainwreck.

My favorite so far is not Doctor/Rose, but it's post-JE, starring Donna and Hand!Ten. Long Way for a Shortcut

Ha! That was lovely, thanks for pointing it out. I'd love to see it expanded into a full-on AU series. The show could totally have done that, setting up the next bunch of specials being DoctorDonna and Hand!10, while Real!10 copes with being temporarily Earthbound. It could soooo work. There's probably a LOT of fix-fic for that ending coming down the pipes. *goes to explore*
