Hello, beloved f-list and lurkers! I have returned from my 6-week sojourn in upstate New York. I learned how to dig square holes of every size imaginable, how to pick through piles of dirt in search of lithic debitage, pottery sherds and faunal remains, how to fill out paperwork about the holes I dug and the stuff I found, including developing mad graphing skillz, and how to throw around terms like "lithic debitage" and "faunal remains". As a bonus, I've also brushed up on my cardinal directions (I can tell where north is, without a compass!) and got a dubious farmer's tan. And one thing I did not get was poison ivy. Drinks all around!
I'm also 6 weeks behind on what's been going on in lj-land and in all of your lives, so if you want to help me out by pointing me to any specific posts of yours that you feel are especially critical, please do. I've also not seen any Doctor Who beyond "Silence in the Library," so I have no idea how Series Four ended. Yet. I hope to remedy that 'ere long.
I will post again later with a nice little summary of my trip, plus pictures. (All together now: "Oh no! Not a slideshow!") But now, I'm swamped with RL catching up and cleaning up. Ta for now!
