Hot and sunny. Happiness. Kind of. Hiding in my air-conditioned office now, but looking outside, well...
Spent a lot of my hot weekend outdoors.
Saturday - Angels at the Dodgers. They let Gagne pitch again! Yaaaaay! Nearly swooned from the heat. Sat in the lower reserve and baked the whole time. Glad I wore spf 45. I was cooking. Sadly enough, heat took all the energy away from me from feeling all the joy I could have felt when Gagne took the mound. Beyond that, heat also quieted the audience; I think everybody was too weary to cheer. Followed that evening by watching the CSI season finale (finally) and getting freaked out more than a little while I tried to sleep.
Sunday - A Wedding, Major League, and Kung Fu Hustle. Of all strange places to go for a wedding, this one (one of Jeff's friends, who is also a chem grad student here) happened at the LA Zoo. It was really beautiful. The wedding was between a couple who'd been dating since they were 15. They'd gone to the LA Zoo on their first date. Incredible, isn't it? Was a pretty *emotionally warm* wedding. People smiling everywhere and fun speeches. Festive attire, so people wore colorful Hawaiian shirts and wild sun dresses. Jeff and I got back from the steaming hot wedding and rented Major League, because I hadn't had enough baseball this weekend. And because I hadn't had enough of movies, we went off to the theater to watch Kung fu Hustle, which was hilarious and fun.
All in all, a pretty nice weekend. Barely read, did no writing whatsoever.
My brother comes in to town today. *Fanny Bai voice* He's 6'1" and studying to be a doctor. V, do you want to meet him? ;P
And...just curious...Where was the weirdest place you've ever have to go for a wedding?
