Hello!

You will be pleased to know I love February, because it's sunny and hot and I get to wear all my skirts and pretty shoes.

I was wondering: how much would it cost to live in New York for six weeks? I am looking at places to go for my elective next year and I was thinking maybe New York. And what about other places in America? I don't know if we get any type of subsidised accommodation or anything, or whether we have to pay for everything ourselves. I also wanted to go to London. But I'm thinking maybe I'd have to go somewhere cheaper...maybe Bali or East Timor or South Africa or somewhere. The world is a big place! We can go to any country excpet Barbados. Monash medical students are banned from Barbados, some of them were naughty in the past and we aren't allowed there anymore!

I'm not sure exactly how it works, either, because the stupid university haven't told us anything other than we need to organise it soon otherwise we might miss out

I don't live in new york city; I live in the suburbs. Travel back forth to the city from here is $11 roundtrip, plus money if you're taking the subway anywhere. I buy groceries...and hardly ever go out...so..I maybe spend around $60 a month on groceries? I'm not sure, maybe more.

My parents pay for housing through the school, though, so I'm not renting an apartment from a landlord or anything. I have friends who have lived in the city. I will ask them these questions because I don't know as well.
