I'm with the band...
So last night, Andrea, Emily and I went to the Park Bar in Detroit to hear Eric's band Innerphonic play. Mario was there, too, running sound for them. It was totally awesome. I've never really listened to that type of music before - I mean, it's kind of techno, but...I don't know... it's kind of hard to explain, but there is a LOT of rhythm so, being the long-lost drummer that I am, I was loving it! They didnt't start till almost midnight and I stayed for the whole thing - 2 hours, meaning they weren't finished till like 3am once daylight savings time was calculated in. I got back to my hotel just shortly after 5. Oof. Checkout was at noon and so here I am at work again.
Anyway, it's just so sweet to see your friends in their element. Eric was having the time of his life - they all were - and it was beautiful. I am, of course, insanely tired and my contacts are so not pleased to be in my eyes again, but it's worth it. I forgot how much I like just going out - music, friends, the whole shebang. Detroit's pretty cool. I think I like it here.
