(no subject)
today marks the first time i've been hit by a bus.
i was two blocks from my work parking lot at 8:45 this morning when the stoplight was out at 102nd ne and ne 10th in bellevue. turns out the qfc on that corner didn't have power, either.
so i stop, because that's WHAT YOU DO at stoplights with no power
and waited patiently for my turn.
well, 3/4 of the way through the intersection, i see a bus coming towards me on the right.
he didn't stop at the light (or even slow down) and clipped the back of my car, taking the bumper almost entirely off.
thankfully a witness stopped behind me and talked to the police.
and a woman who had been walking down the street came over and asked if she could do anything for me so i asked for a hug.
and thankfully i have a fucking amazing boyfriend who came to my rescue. he brought his truck so we could put my bumper in it and he came with me to the collision center ($2600 estimate! HOLY GOD).
so...here's the thing.
even if you saw a green light signaling your right of way (which he didn't) wouldn't you stop if there was a car directly in front of you in the intersection?
luckily no one was on the bus (or i would hope he would get an even bigger ticket from the officer than he did) and the two of us are okay but JESUS, MAN.
