Well the shock of losing my job has finally eased off. It all happened so quickly. One day I was going into work and taking care of my class, the next, I'm sitting on my bum wondering what to do. The whole thing was so upsetting and draining, but I'm finally feeling a bit better. Honestly I don't need the stress for these next 6 or so months. Tara and Kristy made me feel about two feet tall though and since I haven't been on my meds it was hard to bounce back from. I felt like I was being attacked and I know they shouldn't have terminated me for a small mistake like that. Something was going on above my head and all the other teachers have agreed. If they can have a toddler eat half a tube of Desitin and get poisioned and I accidently feed the wrong bottle to the wrong baby and I get fired, something very wrong is going on. Ashlee told me at a former center she worked at, an employee mixed up a baby's formula bottle for another baby's who was on breast milk. Gross. They didn't get fired. I just don't understand it. My attendance was good, I have a great work ethic, I love all my co-teachers and infants. I'm respectful. So what happened? How do they just go and accuse me of child endangerment? That's absolutely ridiculous. Why would an expectant mother endanger any of her day care kids? None of what happened made any sense to me and it appalled me to think they thought I was capable of such a thing.
I was so upset that I had to take a bath. I got so worked up I had a panic attack and it scared me. Stress is not good on baby, so I did everything in my power to calm myself down. Took a hot bath, and put a damp washcloth on my head with ice in it. It seemed to work. Today I spent the day with Amber and we went to the mall to buy Patrick a birthday present. It was nice to have her company and we enjoyed smoothies and girl talk. The walking did me a world of good too. Plus I always oogle over all the cute babies in the food court!
So even though my day care left me high and dry I'm going to apply for Medicaid on Monday. I'm not sure how much longer I have on my insurance, but I'm comforted to know that my ultrasound on Tuesday will be covered by it. Part of me wonders if maybe the company didn't want to pay my insurance or perhaps give me maternity leave (there are 4 other pregnant women there currently and I'm the last one to get pregnant. Our due dates are in August, September, October, and November.) They probably figured it was easier to get rid of me and hire someone new that worry about being shorthanded. Who knows? Maybe they were waiting for an excuse to fire me. That's the only thing I can come up with.
Ugh but I am sick of thinking about it. THINK HAPPY THOUGHTS!
Patrick's birthday is on Monday. I can't have a beer with him. Boo. I suppose I should let him go out and party though. It IS his birthday after all. And I shouldn't be a party pooper just because I can't drink. I will probably just go to bed early so I don't have to watch him stumble in and act silly. (he's the master of that. lol) I bought him a Led Zeppelin shirt that I hope he likes. I splurged and bought myself one that says "I'm not fat, I'm knocked up". My mom thought it was tactless, but I think it's hilarious. You've got to have a sense of humor about these things, right? I find that laughing about things makes it easier on me.
soooo, I am 14 weeks now.
And very excited to see my ultrasound pics. Patrick is going with me this time, which means a lot. I can't wait to see his face when he sees the little dude (or dudette) squirming around in there. And hears the heartbeat. I think it will blow his mind. I can't wait to see the progress we've made since the last one (about 3 weeks worth!). Yay!
Thinking happy thoughts till next time...
