Take a wild guess
Hey all you LJ peeps. Just a quick update to let people know that I'm now in LONDON!!!!!
Yup, got in yesterday, staying at a hostel, looking for a flat. All sorts of crazy fun. It's all a little too much to take in or talk about right now, but a few observations in short are:
a) the tube is WAY nicer than any other subway system I've ever been in before. It's faster, more reliable, and a lot cleaner and prettier then the NY system. Sorry New Yorkers, calling it as I see it. Also, those annoying recorded announcements are a lot easier to take in a british accent.
b) I will never, ever, EVER drive in London. I know I once said I would never drive in cities, and then that I would never drive in NY, and I've since become fine with both. London is insane, though! Aside from the fact that they drive on the other side of the road, which is confusing as hell, the roads have no rhyme or reason to where they go, are extremely narrow, and people drive like maniacs on them. I honestly thought I was gonna die on the shuttle from the airport when people would swerve in front of us, or be parked in the middle of the road. So yeah, I'm gratefully leading a pedestrian life now, because even the bicyclists are insane.
c)Myra, you were right, Strongbow is delicious. As is most of the food I've had so far, contrary to what I was expecting.
