craziness.
sooo. last night was quite an adventure!
james and i went to this classical music concert last night in pasadena
and the concert was amazing. it was for the chamber music group i worked for this summer, so we went to see them, and i got to see all the people i worked with. afterwards they had drinks at the ritz carlton (although james and i just snacked on the nuts)! it was so nice to talk to elizabeth and melissa, and i got lots of big hugs from adrian because he was a little bit drunk. it was fun. james liked adrian because he sounds like pippin. haha
then on the drive back...it was like a flash flood. there was no place on the road for james to even drive, it was all covered in gushing water! and there were trashcans floating away...it was craziness. and he went to make this turn, but it was dark and hard to see, and there was a little pedestrian median, past the main island. it was under water, and he didnt see it and we ran into it...and we got a flat.
by then it was 1am. we sat in the rain in an empty parking lot by the honeybaked ham store with a flashing light for quite some time. it was coming down so hard we couldn't see outside the car at all. (it was like when lynn and i used to pretend we were in a storm in the car wash!) by the time AAA got there, it was 3am. and we couldnt drive back to ucla on a spare, so we stayed in a motel.
we were planning on sleeping in the car originally, but it got a little bit too cold. and the "good" motel was sold out...
so we stayed in this kinda shady one....and in the middle of the night, water started pouring from the fire extinguisher sprinkler. it was a lot of water. i dont know what was going on...but james put a towel under it, and luckily it slowed and just started dripping after a bit. then james woke up early this morning to get the tire replaced on the car. we got back to ucla around 10:30am. craaaazy.

this afternoon was nice! the clouds cleared, and it was gorgeous. the sky was blue, the grass was glowing green and the sun was shining strong through all these pretty white clouds floating around. the end.
