Chai or Peppermint?

I now have two weeks of student teaching under my belt. :) I'm in a fourth grade classroom with nearly 30 kids. I like my cooperating teacher; she's very seasoned, that is, experienced with teaching, and I think I will learn a lot from her. She's also very nice and has a fetish for tea like me. The school is a small country school and they don't have as much funding as my previous school did, but that's alright. The kids are fun. :)

It's a big change going from first grade to fourth grade though. Already I'm thinking that I might prefer the primary grades rather than intermediate. I seem to just understand them better. But I'm not sure yet if that's just because I'm not as experienced with this age group as I am with the younger ones.

My first week was really rough; I was an emotinal wreck. But I think it's a physical problem more than student teaching jitters. Hopefully I'll find that out soon. But, my second week went well and I'm ready for the third.

Though I'll never feel completely comfortable in this classroom until I leave it, what keeps me going is the kids. Their little comments and actions towards me that let me know I am appreciated by them really helps. It lets me know that I am making a difference.

I now have a car! Due to the generosity of some people in my church here in the area, I have a car. It's a '94 chevy corsica, dark sea green color. It has a lot of miles on it, but it's in good shape. They fixed everything that needed replaced or repaired before they gave it to me. They paid for the title transfer, etc. All I can say is God has always provided for my every need, and this is no exception. This will help out with student teaching/car pooling with my classmates.

I've made the recent discovery that I really like chai tea/lattes. Mmmm. Spicy and complicated, interesting and sweet. I also have discovered that I really like peppermint tea. It's soothing and refreshing, cooling and good for relaxing. I bought Trevor chai and peppermint tea for Christmas because he really enjoys hot drinks. Never having had peppermint tea before, I tried it. It's delicious!

I wonder if my life right now would be best compared to chai tea or peppermint tea?

One goal I have for the semester is to play my guitar at least once a week. Now that I'm playing it left handed instead of right handed, it's a lot more comfortable. I really want to keep up with it.

Tomorrow I have no school and neither does Trevor, so it will be nice to have an extra day to spend together this week. :) I'm really enjoying the time we have right now to hang out because I know that as the semester goes on, we will both get busier and and busier, more exhausted and more stressed. But, it's nice to have that special person right by your side who says "You can do this. I know you can."

What a cold winter day it is today! It makes me feel like doing nothing but curling up in a blanket and either dozing off or cuddling close to my sweetheart. But I'm here "working" in the library 'till 8. Haha, havn't done any work I need to do yet! I think this weather makes me a bit lazy.
